When I first started this idea of YouTube the aim was to get a quick video out every week using an iPhone or something.

We have just finished the fourth video and wow was that a monster to finish. The rain didn’t help and I suppose neither did Whit Friday but the main reason was that the videos are becoming more and more complicated.

This was about seven location shots, a massive walk up a mountain with a load of gear, standing in the pouring rain and learning that mostly every photo in the world is owned by somebody. Even asking for permission doesn’t help as most people cant be bothered replying.

It is interesting though, I have so much material for the next one we just have to plan it carefully. To make climbing up hills easier in our old age we have gone for some lighter gear although that probably wont help those moments when you get to the top of a hill and realise that your drone controller is still in the car 🙁

I have joined a newspaper archive and this has already helped me add more information to the tales that we have and in most cases we can relate the tales back to real events. I just have to stop myself reading about interesting cases from 1740.
